Thermal FEA Developer

Gamma Technologies, LLC (GT) is looking for a Thermal FEA Developer with a solid work ethic, excellent judgment, and a desire to build a long-term career with us.

Position Summary

We are looking for a creative, talented, and highly motivated solver developer to join our thermal fluids solver development team. The applicant will be involved in the development and testing of advanced computational schemes for finite element-based modeling of thermal components and structures used by various thermal management applications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work on advancing the development of a 3D thermal finite element solver for enhancing its reliability and computational speeds.
  • Maintain and update features related to modeling of conduction, convection, and radiation in 1D and 3D.
  • Improve and maintain the interaction of the thermal FE solver with other physical domains in GT-SUITE (electrical, flow, reactive, etc.).
  • Contribute towards enhancing the post-processing user experience as it relates to the thermal FE solution.
  • Keep up with industry trends and new technologies by attending suitable conferences and building a professional network.

Education, Experience, and Skills

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

  • PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) with a focus on developing finite element-based solutions.
  • Experience with 2D and 3D meshing strategies and processing schemes.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following three languages: FORTRAN, C, C++.
  • Strong fundamental understanding of the physics governing heat transfer and its significance in the design of thermal management systems.
  • Excellent communication and cross-collaboration skills to work with the application and development teams.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with high-performance computing: OpenMP, OpenMPI, OpenCL, CUDA
